Email Hassles

It's been a week at ISB and already my student email inbox is already full of emails. Some emails have stuff about the various clubs that are being formed while some are about stuff about various activities that few students are undertaking.

The sheer volume of emails has just overwhelmed me and has left me more confused than before. The most irritating aspect is when the person who "seems" to be interested in the proposed activties marks his reply to everyone. Clearly the need of the hour is for"Email Etiquete" to be taught to and learnt by professionals.

In an age of "Information overload" maybe we should take a step back and reduce the noise that is already present in the wired world.....

Old Flight Attendant

Recently, I took a Continental flight to San Francisco from Mumbai. And it struck me that all the flight attendants, male & female were in their mid-30s and mid-40s. After asking around, i realized that most of the international/US airlines had an older staff of attendants, because it is against the law to discriminate on the basis of race, age & sex.

So the next time we complain about "old" Air Indian Air hostesses, we should not judge them by age but by the level of service they provide.

Age of Stupidity !!!!

It is said that over-exposure of media, especially TV, is the reason why we are living in the "Era of Stupidity"....

Some channels have taken this fact pretty seriously. Case in Point- the pic i clicked of local news channel. Under the Heading of Breaking News- The channel proclaims that India is celebrating its 61st Republic Day...What is so Earth Shattering about this piece of news, that it had to be displayed under the heading of breaking news, is for us to figure?

50th Wedding Anniversary

Recently my neighbours celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In this age of late marriages, failed marriages or no marriages, it is quite astonishing and remarkable to see a couple who lived with, and cared for, each other for so long. Such incidents can only waken the romantic person within you ....

Most of us may not be destined to see or experience such occasions, in the near future. So our only option is to Live & Enjoy every moment with our partners as if we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of our Unions !!!!!!

P.S- Being Single, I think this will be the best self advice I will follow in the future- when i meet someone special!!!!
